Previously: The unsubscribe counts and percentages were calculated using Sendgrid’s unsubscribe data, which consistently reported holistic brand unsubscribe data instead of email-specific unsubscribe data. E.g., if 5 out of 100 email recipients were unsubscribed from a brand, 4 previously unsubscribed, and 1 newly unsubscribed after the email was sent, the unsubscribe counts and percentages would read as 5 and 5% for every email sent to that list.
Update: The unsubscribe counts and percentages are calculated using click data for the unsubscribe link on every individual email to provide more accurate email-specific unsubscribe data. E.g., if 5 out of 100 email recipients were unsubscribed from a brand, 4 previously unsubscribed, and 1 newly unsubscribed after the email was sent, the most recently sent email will have an unsubscribe count and percentage of 1 and 1%, and every individual email sent to the same recipient list will have unique unsubscribe statistics.
