Transaction Fees (GWU-3284)
Previously: When registering for a program, users would see the transaction fees associated with the payment method they used, with ACH payments resulting in a 2.25% transaction fee, credit card payments resulting in a 3.25% fee, and payments by check not incurring a transaction fee.
Update: Brands now have the option to roll transaction fees into the public price of every program/product.
Automatically adding a 3.25% premium rounded the next dollar to the item cost in order to calculate the public price. For example, a program that costs $100, will have a public price of $104, after the 3.25% fee, equaling $3.25 is rounded up to $4.
Users will only see the public price throughout the website, including at checkout and on their invoices. They will not see a transaction fee.
Installment fees and handling fees will always be visible.
Admin will continue to see transaction fees as separate line items on invoices and see a distinction between a program/product’s cost and its public price.
Admin will continue to see and set a Cost/Price for every program/product. However, they will also see an accompanying Public Price, showing admin the price that customers will see, once rollup transaction fees are included.
