How to Add an Athlete to a Team

Note: For programs offering a tryout, this will skip the need for that athlete to register and pay for a tryout. After the athlete is added, you can send them the tryout acceptance link and they can register for the team.

  1. Sign in to the PlayerFirst website with the program that you want to copy a team roster to.

  2. On the left navigation, click Team > Team Management.

  3. In the Program search box, select the program you want to add an athlete to.

  4. In the Division search box, select the division you want to add an athlete to.

  5. Click the Filter button.

  6. Click to add an athlete.

  7. For Existing Players (Athletes who have a PlayerFirst account)

    1. Select Team: Select the team the athlete will be assigned to.

    2. Search Name: Type the athlete’s name in the search field. An athlete can also be searched by email.

    3. Jersey Number: Assigning a jersey number is not required. Input the athlete’s jersey number, if it has been assigned, otherwise skip this step.

      1. Note: If another athlete on the team already has the new athlete’s number, the new athlete will not be able to be added since the system prevents duplicate numbers.

    4. Click Save.

  8. For New Players (Athletes who don’t have a PlayerFirst account)

    1. Select Team: Select the team the athlete will be assigned to.

    2. First Name, Last Name, Date of Birth, Adult/Guardian First Name, Adult/Guardian Last Name, Adult/Guardian Email: Complete this information, as it is required.

    3. Jersey Number: Assigning a jersey number is not required. Input the athlete’s jersey number, if it has been assigned, otherwise skip this step.

    4. Athlete Email: Complete if possible, but athlete email addresses are not required.

    5. Click Save.
