Purpose: Understand best practices for using discounts, pro-rates and scholarships

Best Practices & Notes

  • Non-payment methods for lowering an invoice:

    • Discount

    • Pro-Rate

    • Scholarship

  • Description:

    • Discount: a deduction from the cost of registration

    • Pro-Rate: to reduce the total amount of an invoice due to a portion of a program being missed

    • Scholarship: financial aid or athletic scholarship to help pay for a program

  • Recommended Use:

    • Discount: usually relationship-related

    • Pro-Rate: participant only playing part of the program

    • Scholarship: giving money for financial need

Restrictions For Adjustments

  • There is a set max % off per invoice.

  • Any user - except for a Root Admin - will be prevented from exceeding the max % off adjustment per invoice when adding a discount, pro-rate or scholarship.

  • A user must specify the line item that the discount, pro-rate or scholarship is allocated to before the adjustment is saved.

  • If a Root Admin overrides the violation, they will still receive a warning that they are exceeding budget.
