How to Email a College Coach

Note: Your visibility into these steps may vary depending on your user permission level. You cannot send an email to an athlete without also sending it to the parent(s)

  1. Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.

  2. On the left navigation, click Communication > Create Message.

  3. Select Your Brand(s): Leave the default brand selected. This step may not be viewable based on your permissions and click Next.

  4. What Type of Message Are You Sending? Select Transactional or Marketing Email and click Next.

  5. What Groups Are Receiving This Message? Select College Coaches and click Next.
    Note: Click Skip to Compose to jump straight to the compose page without any recipients.

  6. Narrow Down Your List: Note: Selecting multiple filters will narrow down your recipient list, decreasing the more filters you add. For example, selecting a program and a school will filter to athletes that are both registered for the program and in the school.

    1. Sport Gender: College coaches of athletes of a specified gender.

    2. College Zip Code: College address is within one or more specified zip codes and radius.

    3. College State: College address is within one or more specified states.

    4. College Name: Linked to users who attend or work for specific schools.

    5. College Sport: College coaches linked to a specific sport.

    6. College Division: College coaches linked to a specific college division level.

    7. College Conference: College coaches linked to a specific conference.

    8. College Coach Position: Head or assistant college coach.

    9. Click Next.

  7. Filter College Coaches: Depending on what filter was previously selected, there will be an option to narrow down the search further. For example, selecting College Coach Position will give you the ability to select Head coach or assistant coach and then click Next.

  8. Preview your recipients list. Click Back to make changes or click Next to proceed.

  9. Compose your email and click Next. Selecting Next saves your email and mailing list which can be located in Messaging Schedule.
    Note: If your email filters need to be updated, select one of the filters from the dashboard to return to that page and edit your filter. After editing the filters, click Skip to Compose to return to the compose page without having to confirm every selected email filter.

  10. Preview your email. Click Edit Icon to edit your email. Click Save for Later to save your email or schedule it to send at a later date. Click Send Messages to send the email immediately.
