How to bring an account with bad debt into good standing
An account receives a bad debt flag when any its invoices has been written off with a bad debt payment of $50+ within the last two years. If an account has a bad debt flag, they will not see payment plan options when registering. The account must bring their invoice(s) into good standing before they will be allowed to select a see and choose a payment plan option. Follow these instructions to begin the process of bringing an account back into good standing.
Sign in to a PlayerFirst website.
On the left navigation, click Sales > Invoices.
Find and select the invoice(s) with bad debt payments.
Click the Receive Payment icon, .
Type: Leave the type as Process Now in order to process the payment immediately.
Method: Select Bad Debt.
Amount: Enter the amount of bad debt to be reversed. This is the amount of money the client is expected to pay, to bring their account back into good standing.
It should be discussed with the finance team how much a client must pay in order to bring the account back into good standing. Some clients may be expected to pay 100% of what they owe while others may be able to pay a portion of what is owed.
Click Save Payment.
Charge the client or have the client make a payment on their invoice.
Repeat the above steps for all applicable invoices.
If the client is paying a portion of what is owed, the remaining amount due should be prorated out.
